Regular Meeting Minutes

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:02PM.
Also present: Commissioner Kevin Huss, Commissioner Johnny Brown, Kristen
N. Wade, Human Resources Director, Chief Lewis, City of Muskegon Chief of
Police, Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director and Lisa
Vanderlaan, Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Brown to approve the regular minutes of the March 13, 2017 meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the revised job descriptions for the EEO/Employee Relations Director
and Police Recruit. No questions.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by
Commissioner Brown to approve the revisions to the EEO/Employee
Relations Director and Police Recruit job descriptions.
Motion Carried.
B. Approve the Police Recruitment Program for 1 year. Chief Lewis answered
questions and described the program. John Schrier, City attorney, will also be
consulted to review the program.
Motion was made by Commissioner Wendtland and seconded by
Commissioner Huss to approve the Police Recruitment Program for 1
year.
Motion Carried.
