Regular Meeting Minutes

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:03PM.
Also present: Commissioner Kevin Huss, Commissioner Johnny Brown, Kristen
N. Wade, Civil Service Director, Chief Lewis, City of Muskegon Chief of Police,
Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director and Lisa Vanderlaan,
Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Brown to approve the regular minutes of the April 10, 2017 meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the job description for the Police Community Coordinator. No
questions.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by
Commissioner Brown to approve the Police Community Coordinator job
description.
Motion Carried.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
None
V. OTHER BUSINESS
Discussion regarding the challenges Chief Lewis is facing with his part-time
Police Officer recruitments. Kristen Wade, Civil Service Director, to explore
options with John Schrier, City Attorney, and report back to the Commission.
