MUSKEGON BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS
Regular Meeting Minutes
Monday, September 11, 2017
4:00PM City Hall, Room 203

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:02PM.
Also present: Commissioner Kevin Huss, Kristen N. Wade, Civil Service Director,
Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director, Beth Lewis, Finance
Director and Lisa Vanderlaan, Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the regular minutes of the August 14, 2017
meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the job descriptions for the Public Services Supervisor, Park Supervisor,
Park Maintenance Worker I and Park Maintenance Worker II. Commissioner
Wendtland and Commissioner Huss asked who the Public Services Supervisor
and Park Supervisor reports to. Ms. Thompson replied that both positions
report to the Public Works Superintendent.
Motion was made by Commissioner Huss and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Public Services Supervisor, Park Supervisor,
Park Maintenance Worker I and Park Maintenance Worker II job
descriptions.
Motion Carried.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
In regards to adopting the County’s Personnel Rules, Commissioner Wendtland
asked Ms. Thompson to send the Commissioner’s a copy of the portion of the
City Charter that relates to the Civil Service for review at the next Civil Service
meeting.
