MUSKEGON BOARD OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS
Regular Meeting Minutes
Monday, August 10, 2020
4:00 P.M. Webex Conference Call

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:05PM.
Also present: Commissioner Lawrence Spataro, Kristen N. Wade, Civil Service
Director, Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director, Kenneth
Grant, Assistant Finance Director, Leo Evans, Director of Public Works and Lisa
Vanderlaan, Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by
Commissioner Brown to approve the regular meeting minutes of the
July 13, 2020 meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the following job description: Treasurer, Assistant Finance Director,
and Treasurer-Income Tax Administrator.
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by
Commissioner Brown to approve the Treasurer, Assistant Finance
Director, and Treasurer-Income Tax Administrator job descriptions.
Motion Carried.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
V. OTHER BUSINESS
Kristen N. Wade, Civil Service Director, advised the Commissioners that
the 3 year extension of the Human Resources contract that the City of Muskegon
has with Muskegon County passed at the last City of Muskegon Commission
meeting. It was approved for a 2% increase each year and there are no change
in duties. Kristen advised that she will present the new contract to the
Commissioners at the next Civil Service Meeting.
