Regular Meeting Minutes

I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Commissioner David Wendtland at 4:03PM.
Present: Commissioner David Wendtland, Cocoa Beach, Florida and
Commissioner Larry Spataro, Muskegon, Michigan. Also present: Kristen N.
Wade, Civil Service Director, Leigh Ann Mikesell, Director of Planning and CNS,
Amy Smiley, Public Safety Records Supervisor, Chief Lewis, City of Muskegon
Chief of Police, Ann Meisch, City Clerk, Joe Buthker, Water Filtration Plant
Superintendent, Dwana Thompson, EEO & Employee Relations Director and
Lisa Vanderlaan, Departmental Clerk.
II. MINUTES
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the regular meeting minutes of the January 11, 2021
meeting.
Motion Carried.
III. ACTION AGENDA
A. Approve the following job description: Public Safety Administrative
Supervisor
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Public Safety Administrative Supervisor job
description as presented.
Motion Carried.
B. Approve the following job description: Chief Water Plant Operator
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Chief Water Plant Operator job description as
presented.
Motion Carried.
C. Approve the following job description: Police Records Manager
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Police Records Manager job description as presented.
Motion Carried.
D. Approve the following job description: Event Planner
Motion was made by Commissioner Spataro and seconded by Commissioner
Wendtland to approve the Event Planner job description as presented.
Motion Carried.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
V. OTHER BUSINESS
Once the meetings are held in person again, Commissioner Wendtland would
like to confirm the Actions of the Civil Service Meetings that were held virtually.
Kristen Wade reminded Commissioners that, unless Open Meetings Act was
further amended, in-person meetings would resume in April.
