INVITATION FOR BIDS
CITY OF MUSKEGON, MICHIGAN

Project Title Nims Street Tank/Interior Coating W-749

The City of Muskegon, Michigan will receive sealed bids until 2:00 p.m. local time on September 2, 2014 at the City Clerk’s Office, City Hall 933 Terrace Street, Muskegon, Michigan, at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following Project:

Items of work include: The structure is a 1,000,000 gallon radial arm storage tank with an estimated low water line of 100 feet located on Nims Street in Muskegon, Michigan. Work to include abrasive blast clean and a 3 coat epoxy coating system. Other work includes installation of riser manway, Replacement of manway gaskets, replacement of wet interior roof hatch, installation of a wet interior ladder, enlargement of the opening in the riser grate, installation of a painter’s rail and installation of roof couplings with safety clips.

Copies of Plans and Specifications may be obtained on or after August 18, 2014 at the office of Dixon Engineering, Inc., 1104 Third Avenue, Lake Odessa, Michigan 48849upon payment of $60.00 (handling charge for each set). Payment for specifications should be made to Dixon Engineering, Inc. There will be no refund of handling charge for return of specification packages. Contract documents may be examined at the following locations:

Attention is called to the fact that the City requires: that the Contractor consider hiring local work force insofar as possible; that not less than the salaries and wages set forth in the Specifications must be paid; that 14% minority and 6.9% female are the goals established for participation in each trade; that the Contractor must ensure employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against based upon their race, creed, color, religion, sex, national origin, handicapped condition nor veteran background; and that all pertinent regulations must be complied with. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after bid opening.
