Margaret Drake Elliott Park

About Margaret Drake Elliott Park

Located North of Pere Marquette Park at 1651 Beach St., Margaret Drake Elliot Park is a 5-acre major picnicking site in the area. It has as its backdrop the beautiful Muskegon Channel and is also within walking distance of Lake Michigan beach.

Many find the walk along the channel wall great for exercise. It’s also a joy to watch the boat traffic and beautiful sunsets. The Lake Express ferry boat can be viewed traveling back and forth through the channel during the day. Fishing is another popular activity here.

A well-shaded grassy area provides an ideal picnic location with three options for reserving table space. One large shelter accommodates approximately 80 people. A smaller shelter situated on the channel wall accommodates approximately 24 people. And groups of unsheltered tables may also be booked. The channel wall pavilion is often used for small scale weddings.

Picnic Shelters are furnished with barbecue grills, picnic tables, restrooms, electricity, water, a public use playground, and a grassy open area for field games.
