City of Muskegon’s National Night Out Ranks 33rd in the nation for 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Muskegon’s National Night Out event received a national award from the National Night Out organization, ranking #33 in the nation in the category for communities with populations between 15,000 and 50,000!

This prestigious recognition honors communities across the country for outstanding participation in National Night Out. What makes this achievement even more special is that Muskegon was the only community in Michigan to receive an award this year! This distinction highlights the passion, planning, and community involvement that went into our event.

What is National Night Out?
National Night Out is an annual community-building event held across the country to strengthen relationships between residents and local public safety agencies. It promotes neighborhood camaraderie, crime-prevention awareness, and positive engagement through activities, food, youth games, demonstrations, and meet-and-greets with police, fire, and EMS teams. Muskegon celebrated its 2025 National Night Out on August 5, bringing families, neighbors, and community partners together for an evening focused on connection, safety, and fun.
