Katrina Kochin

Katrina Kochin is a Ward IV Commissioner for the City of Muskegon.

During my travels, I have lived in many places and I chose to stay in Muskegon because it is one of my favorite places in the US. I currently live in Glenside with my daughter and rescue pets where we garden and raise butterflies. I ran for office because I want to listen to your thoughts on the issues that face our city and represent you to the best of my ability.

Education:

  • Associate’s Degree majoring in Environmental Science, Grand Rapids Community College
  • Bachelor’s Degree majoring in Biology/Natural Resources, Northland College

Work Ethic and Career:

I was taught to work hard by my father, Gary Kochin and have had many hats over the years to make sure my family was taken care of while pursuing my degrees. I have done everything from volunteer management with Hope Network to milking cows and picking blueberries. If you needed help, I was there to help.

Community Engagement:

  • Muskegon River Watershed Association
  • Muskegon Lake Watershed Partnership
  • National Neighborhood Promise
  • Progressive Democratic Women’s Caucus
  • Glenside Neighborhood Association-Board Member
