Smith-Ryerson Park

About Smith-Ryerson Park

Smith-Ryerson Park encompasses 23 acres and is located at 650 Wood St. along Sumner Avenue. It lies in a natural valley, bordered on the south by Ryerson Creek, and is interspersed with a wide variety of lowland flora (maple, birch, willow, basswood, etc.). This provides an excellent setting for picnicking.

The park serves as a focal point for recreational activities within the Jackson Hill neighborhood.

The picnic shelter is furnished with a charcoal grill, picnic tables to seat 100 people, restrooms, electricity, water, and ample parking.

The Sim Ray Community Building is furnished with eighteen 6′ tables and chairs to seat 75 people, restrooms and an infant changing station, electricity, water, a public playground area, and kitchen facilities (including a stove and oven unit, a microwave, two refrigerator and freezer units, a triple sink, and ample parking).
