About Lake Michigan Park
This major publicly owned stretch of shoreline dune lies between Pere Marquette and Kruse Parks. The 65.5-acre area adjoins the dog beach at its southern end and offers fire pits, a rescue board with water safety/lifesaving equipment, portable restrooms, ample parking, and access to the Lakeshore Trail in three spots.
The area is characterized by sandy beaches and high, steeply ascending dunes that run behind the Lakeshore Trail. Dunes are generally grass covered on their western faces and heavily wooded on the backside.
