Kiley Jackson is a newly elected City Commissioner for the City of Muskegon — and the youngest person ever elected to serve in this role. Driven by a deep commitment to public service and community voice, she works to ensure that every resident feels seen, heard, and included in the decisions shaping Muskegon’s future.
Kiley’s priorities include expanding affordable and attainable housing, improving neighborhood livability, strengthening transportation access, supporting youth opportunity, and building stronger bridges between residents, local government, and community partners. She believes in transparent governance, respectful dialogue, and policies that reflect the real experiences of the people who call Muskegon home.
Kiley earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Human Rights from Grand Valley State University, where she developed a strong foundation in public policy, civic engagement, and advocacy.
Raised with a strong belief in community involvement and civic responsibility, Kiley has been active in local volunteering, youth leadership initiatives, and community engagement efforts. Before joining the Commission, she gained experience working alongside community organizations and local leaders to connect residents with resources and advocate for equitable opportunities.
Outside of her service on the Commission, Kiley continues to mentor young leaders, serves on the Muskegon Young Black Professionals and Muskegon PRIDE boards, and champions collaborative problem-solving across the city.
