Accreditation
The Muskegon Police Department is accredited through the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. At the time of accreditation, the Muskegon Police Department was one of 34 accredited law enforcement agencies out of over 550 in the state.
According to the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police, “accreditation status represents a significant professional achievement. Accreditation acknowledges the implementation of written directives, policies, and procedures that are conceptually sound and operationally effective.”
