The Department of Public Works (DPW) has several major road and utility projects scheduled for the 2024 construction season. The DPW team hosted an open house at City Hall on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM to discuss all the 2024 projects. During the 2023 Construction Season, Sanford St and Merril Ave in the Nelson Neighborhood was reconstructed. The slideshow below has photos from the project to give you an idea of what to expect this summer. The Sanford and Merril projects included sanitary sewer and water mains being replaced. The work included various storm sewer improvements, fully rebuilding the asphalt road, and some sidewalk improvements. The project involved replacing various water services from the water main into the home or building throughout the project area.
