Citizen’s Public Safety Workshop (cancelled)

Through this one-day, hands-on workshop we hope to provide citizens with a better understanding of the functions of law enforcement, dispel misconceptions and increase positive communication between citizens and police and firefighters. We hope you find this workshop insightful and gain a better understanding of the importance of public safety in our community.

Workshop Highlights:
-Meet Muskegon police officers and fire fighters
-Tour the newly renovated Muskegon Police Department
-Tour Central Fire Station and Central Dispatch
-Learn De-escalation Tactics
-Be put in the foot steps of an officer during an emergency call
-Fire extinguishing
-Drone unit demonstration
-Lunch provided

The program is free, but space is limited. Anyone interested must submit an application and agree to a background check to be considered for acceptance to the workshop. Must be 18 years or older. Applications must be submitted by March 9, 2026.
