After decades of hard work, advocacy, and community dedication, Muskegon Lake is officially being delisted as an Area of Concern (AOC). This massive cleanup achievement marks a brand-new chapter for our shoreline, and WMSRDC invites you to celebrate this historic milestone with two incredible events on Saturday, August 15th!
☀️ Daytime Celebration: Sun, Fun, and a Lake Restored
- Where: Grand Trunk Pavilion
- When: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Cost: Free admission!
- Bring the family down to the water for a day of celebration. Enjoy a waterfront Fun Run/Walk, hands-on kids’ activities, local food trucks, free kayak trials, guided bike tours, educational displays, and even tours of the historic S.S. Milwaukee Clipper.

🎸 Evening Event: Back to the Lake – An 80s Celebration (ticketed event)
- Where: Aboard the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper
- When: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- Cost: Ticketed (On sale now via Eventbrite!)
- We are throwing it back to the decade where this massive cleanup effort first began: the 1980s! Dust off your neon, pull out the leg warmers, and tease up your hair for a totally rad night of heavy appetizers, a cash bar, a DJ, and dancing.
