Reception: Honoring Service and Leadership

Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 4:30–5:30 PM, the City of Muskegon will host a reception to recognize two outstanding achievements:

1. Honoring Commissioner Rachel Gorman (City Commission Chambers)
   On behalf of the City Commission and the residents of Muskegon, we extend our sincere appreciation to Rachel Gorman for her exemplary service, leadership, and lasting contributions to our community. Elected effective January 1, 2022, Commissioner Gorman has served with distinction as an At-Large Commissioner, demonstrating dedication, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit throughout her term. Open to the public and all staff!

2. Celebrating City Staff Service Awards (Conference Room 103)
   We will also recognize city employees who have reached important milestones in their careers, ranging from 5 to 35 years of service. These awards honor the dedication, commitment, and impact of our city staff who help make Muskegon a great place to live and work. Open to service awardees, families, staff, and the public who are celebrating a milestone.

Reception Details:
The staff award presentation and Commissioner proclamation will take place at the beginning of the City Commission meeting, which starts at 5:30 PM.
