On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Muskegon Police Department responded to a welfare check at a residence in the 1200 block of Montgomery Avenue. Upon entering the home, officers located a 47-year-old female and a 52-year-old male deceased inside the residence.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the female died by suicide. The cause of death for the male remains under investigation.

The Muskegon Department of Public Safety extends its deepest sympathies to the families and all those affected by this tragedy.
