RE:          H-1712 – Hartford, Pine and Diana

Dear Property Owner:

This letter is to inform you that the City of Muskegon Engineering Department, along with C&D Hughes, Inc. (Contractor), will be reconstructing Hartford from Terrace to Pine, Pine from Hartford to Diana, and Diana from Pine to Terrace. This project is scheduled to begin September 18th, 2017 and is scheduled to be completed within seven (7) weeks, around November 10th.

Please note that we have made a sincere effort to see that any inconvenience to property owners in the construction area is kept at a minimum. Access to your property (barring unforeseen circumstances) will be maintained during the construction to the extent possible.

It is possible that you or your neighbors may have plantings, sprinkling systems or other valued items within the terrace. The City is not responsible for protecting these items but we hope that you will look over the right-of-way area near your property to determine if you have items in or near the terrace area that you wish to save. It would be advisable to contact our office to see if they should be relocated prior to the start of the construction.

During the construction period, the affected property owners are asked to place their garbage bins at the corners of the nearest cross street the evening prior to your regularly scheduled pickup (only IF you discover that you are in the “construction zone” where the garbage truck cannot access your property). The garbage pickup will occur early on your regularly scheduled day (approximately 5:30 a.m.) before the contractors arrives. If you need assistance in wheeling your garbage bin to the nearest cross street, please notify the City’s on-site Field Representative or call us in advance at (231) 724-6707.

Should you have any questions now or during construction, please feel free to contact the City Engineering office at (231) 724.6707 (Then press 0). We want to thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Joel Brookens

City Engineer
