Water Filtration Plant Tours

Our 30–45 minute tours provide an overview of the full water filtration process, including:

  • Pre-treatment
  • Filtration systems
  • Pumps and distribution
  • On-site laboratory testing

Tours begin at the intake building and are guided by knowledgeable Water Filtration Plant staff, providing a hands-on learning experience.

Safety Notice

This is an active industrial facility. Guests should be aware of:

  • Steep stairs and wet areas
  • Operating equipment
  • Safety rules such as avoiding touching equipment and not leaning over railings

Accessibility Notice

The Water Filtration Plant is not fully ADA accessible. There are multiple stairs and areas that cannot be reached by wheelchair. Please contact us for questions about accommodations.

Bus Information

Buses should enter through Gate #1 (front gate) and proceed to the main entrance. After drop-off, buses may park in front of the entrance or exit via Gate #5 (back gate).

For Teachers: Schedule a Class Tour During Water Week

Each year, during Water Week (May 4-8, 2026), we welcome 3rd–5th grade students to join a week-long series of educational tours. Students will:

  • Learn the science behind clean water
  • Explore the full water filtration process
  • Understand the importance of water safety and stewardship

How to Reserve a Tour

Teachers must complete both of the following to reserve a tour:

  1. Reserve Your Time Slot – pick a Water Week tour time
  2. Submit Classroom Information – provide class details

Note: Slots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Completing both steps ensures your class is registered.
