Public Safety News: Fatal Crash 3/5/26

On March 5, 2026, at approximately 3:19 pm, the Muskegon Department of Public Safety responded to a vehicle crash in the area of Getty Street and Hackley Avenue. A moped traveling northbound on Getty Street struck a passenger vehicle that was turning onto Hackley Avenue. The rider of the moped, a 56-year-old Muskegon Township man, died at the scene. Accident investigators from the Muskegon Police Department and the Michigan State Police are investigating the crash. Any potential criminal charges will be determined pending the completion of the investigation.
